Evaluation

Weekly Review, Week 6

This week i have completly finish my final desgins for my magazine. I am happy with the outcome as i have spent all week changing everything untill i was completly happy.
I have now started on my evaluation

Final Front Cover

This is my final for my front cover i have changed it from my earlier draft. I have edited the picture to make it a closer up head and shoulders shot, i have also edited the contrast, creating shadow on his face to make it look more professional. I didn't want my front page to be too busy so i kept my headlines and features to minimum. I have included the company's that will feature a lot in my magazine, a magazine website, bar code, month of release and price. My magazine is different because it does not have any completions drawing the reader in, i think that the magazine interviews are exclusive enough to interest the reader in my magazine.

Contents Page Final

This is my final design of my contents page for my magazine. I have added more articles to my page to make it seem more interesting and more like a busy magazine with lots going in within it. I have tilted the banner at the top with the magazine name on it. This makes it look better as the design is to make it look like hazzard tape and it therfore looks better at a angle. I have also added images of the companys that would be featured in the magazine, this lets the audience know what will be in the magazine. This will also interest them as they may be involved with events these companys run. I have added the colours blue and yellow to this page of the magazine to make it more interesting and easier to tell the numbers from whats in the magazine.

Final Double Page Spread

This is my final for my double page spread, i have changed it a lot since my first draft. First of all i completely changed my text, made it smaller and added more to the interview. I also made the text a standard font so even when small it is still easier to read. I added a masthead to my page this lets the reader know what they are about to read. I have also changed the pictures, i kept the black back ground on the black and white picture as i thought this was a good contrast to the other side of the page. I edited the picture by changing the contrast on the page to create more of a shadow on his face. I also added a quotation onto the page for this to stand out to the audience.

Weekly Review, Week 5

This week i have managed to complete all my first drafts, the changes i would like to make on my front cover is to change the 'till late' and 'dont stay in' images round as they are supposed to be two different images, and they look the same.
On my contents page i want to add more pages to make it seem more like a contents page. For my double page spread i want to make it more interesting or change the pictures round or change the colour scheme

Weekly Review, Week 4

This week i have finished taking all my photos and began editing them. The photos i am interesting in using are the head shot of my model, the one of him djing and also the long shot of him for the front cover. I also may use the photo of the band.

Weekly Review, Week 3

This week i have managed to complete all my initial ideas of layouts and texts i would like to use within my magazine. I have decided to use parts of each design as i like aspects of each.

This week i have planned my photo shoot and took most of my photos.

I have also edited the mastheads i would like to use on my front cover and contents page.

Initial Design -Double Page

This is my first initial idea of my double page spread. My idea is of a interview with an upcoming band or artist. I like the idea of having one large image and the inset image. I also like the idea of the colour scheme through out, this would look good with a black and white image.

This is my second idea of my double page spread, I've kept it simple and symmetrical. I would probably use a bright image in the middle as it would draw the audiences eye in and use simple font and dark colours for the main inteview and a bold intervew title.

This is my third idea for a double page spread, i like how the interview space and the image alternate and both the images are the same size.

Initial Design -Contents

This is my first idea of my contents. I have kept it very simple with a white background and black text. However where the large image space is i would like to put a bright picture there, this would make the page more interesting. For the top image i would put the feature artist there and the page number they are on.

This is my second idea for my contents page, it is a little more busier with more images throught the contents that will relate to the page and a larger image at the top. This contents page also includes a letter from the editor.

This is my third idea of my contents page, it has lots of space for the contents information and room for one large image and two smaller images.

Initial Design -Front Cover

This is my first initial design of a magazine cover. I like the font for the masthead but i think the actual page is too busy, i prefer the main page to be simple but interesting with few colours. I like the idea of the image being towards one side of the page and the pictures down the right hand side of the page.

This is my second idea for my front cover, i like the simplicity of this design. If i was to do this idea i would probably use an image with a white backgroun that i could crop and then place the features around it with the headline at the bottom. I'm not sure if i like the font for the masthead but it does go with my theme.

This is my third idea for my front cover layout. i like the font for the masthead as it stands out. I like the idea of having other images on the front but i still think it makes the page look to busy.

Plan of photoshoot

For my photoshoot i plan to take photos of local DJs or local bands, i need to take many shots of medium close ups and also other angles so i have a range of images to put in my magazine. I would like to have either a main shot of the artist/s with a white or black background on the front cover or a live picture of the artist/s at a gig to make the image more interesting.
For the photos of the DJ i want to make them seen professional and interesting by using the use of shadow, for the pictures of te band i want to have them doing different poses and different types of shots.
I also want to get photos of people at a rave or festival to create the image of my magazine, these wont be great quality images as they need to look like the public have taken them and sent them in. I also want to include event company pictures.
